Beach clean ups are often seen as routine, sometimes dull events focused solely on collecting trash. Many of our clients tell us that they take the effort to come all the way to the beach with their colleagues and schoolmates- why can't we upsize the experience and make this a fun and tasty experience? After our corporate marine conservation conferences, many events agencies ask us how we can create MICE experience by the beach for tourists visiting Singapore?

The good news is- we heard you!

What if you could transform beach clean ups, an essential environmental activity into a lively, engaging experience that combines sustainability, socializing, and local culture? Imagine wrapping up your beach clean-up with eco-friendly cocktails and mocktails made from seaweed and herbs fertilized by the ocean, followed by a tropical fruit party featuring the king of fruits, Durian. This fresh approach not only makes the event more enjoyable but also deepens participants' connection to ocean and soil health.

Well, it's not just imagination- Ocean Purpose Project is ready to "zhng" or tailor this wonderful CSR experience for you with Singaporean vendors who are uplifted in the process!

Why Rethink the Traditional Beach Clean Up?

Most beach clean ups focus on the task at hand: picking up litter. While this is crucial, the experience can feel repetitive and uninspiring, especially for repeat volunteers or corporate social responsibility (CSR) groups. Adding an interactive and educational twist can boost enthusiasm and attendance, making the event memorable and meaningful.

By incorporating eco cocktails and mocktails crafted with seaweed-fertilized herbs from the Ocean Purpose Project’s Herb Garden, you create a unique sensory experience. This garden is part of a United Nations initiative exploring how ocean health and soil health work together. Using these ingredients highlights the connection between marine ecosystems and sustainable agriculture, turning a simple drink into a conversation starter.

The Ocean Purpose Project (OPP) Herb Garden is a pioneering effort that uses seaweed as a natural fertilizer to grow herbs. Seaweed is rich in nutrients and supports soil health, which in turn benefits plant growth. This project demonstrates how ocean resources can be used responsibly to improve land-based agriculture, creating a positive feedback loop between the sea and the soil.

Using herbs from this garden in cocktails and mocktails showcases the practical benefits of ocean-friendly farming. It also raises awareness about the blue economy — the sustainable use of ocean resources for economic growth, improved livelihoods, and ocean ecosystem health.
