Are you looking for your next sustainability role with an award-winning Asian NGO? Do performative beach clean ups and sustainability eco-influencers irk you? Are you looking to serve the sea with authentic and sincere impact?
What if your next job and internship didn't just pay the bills?
What if it helped remove plastic from the ocean, restore marine ecosystems, develop breakthrough climate technologies, support coastal communities, influence policymakers, and create a more sustainable future for Southeast Asia?
At Ocean Purpose Project (OPP), that's exactly what we do.

We are not your typical ocean conservation organisation but an ocean pollution to solution engineering movement.

Based at our headquarters on the Northeastern Singaporean beach of Pasir Ris, we are a raiSE accredited social enterprise and UN Global Compact Gold member, cementing our role as a blue economy innovator, and ocean action movement dedicated to turning pollution into solutions. From converting plastic waste into fuel and hydrogen, to deploying seaweed and mussel bioremediation systems that naturally clean polluted waters, to mobilising thousands of volunteers through beach clean-ups and sustainability programmes, our work sits at the intersection of science, technology, conservation, entrepreneurship, and community engagement.

Since our founding in 2020, Ocean Purpose Project has:
🌊 Filtered more than 37 million litres of seawater through our bioremediation programmes
♻ Removed over 14 tonnes of marine plastic pollution
🌱 Deployed more than 420 seaweed and mussel bioremediation lines
🌴 Planted hundreds of coral reef stars and coastal restoration projects
🤝 Mobilised thousands of volunteers, students, corporates, researchers, and policymakers
🎤 Represented Singapore's ocean innovation ecosystem at COP27, the UN Ocean Conference, GITEX Africa, Singapore Maritime Week, and international sustainability forums around the world.
We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and strongly encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, religion, nationality, or life circumstances. We are particularly committed to creating opportunities for older workers, caregivers, persons with disabilities, mid-career professionals seeking a career transition, and individuals returning to the workforce after a caregiving, grief or career break.
Many of our most impactful team members bring unique experiences from outside the traditional sustainability sector. Whether you are a former teacher, healthcare worker, engineer, parent, retiree, community leader, or someone navigating life with a disability, we recognise the valuable skills, resilience, empathy, and problem-solving abilities you bring to the table. We firmly believe that a regenerative future for our oceans and communities can only be built when everyone has a seat at the table.
If you are passionate about creating positive environmental and social impact, we encourage you to apply — even if you do not meet every single requirement listed in the job description. Passion, purpose, integrity, and a willingness to learn often matter far more than ticking every box.
As we continue expanding across Southeast Asia, we are searching for people of purpose who take action and lead by example.
