Looking for student volunteering beach clean ups, gardening and ocean conservation opportunities in Singapore?

If you’re searching for meaningful beach clean up volunteering in Singapore, VIA hours, or hands-on sustainability experience, the Ocean Purpose Project (OPP) welcomes you — but only if you’re ready to volunteer with heart, respect, and responsibility.

ree

At Ocean Purpose Project (OPP), we believe volunteering is about making a positive difference for the ocean, the environment, and your community — not just collecting points, recognition, or rewards. True volunteerism comes from a willingness to contribute time, energy, and passion toward meaningful action.

If you’re motivated by curiosity, care for the environment, or the desire to help communities and oceans thrive, OPP offers a variety of opportunities to get involved. Whether you enjoy hands-on activities outdoors or creative work online, there’s a role for everyone — but it comes with real responsibility and commitment.

We want every student volunteer to understand what it means to be part of OPP:

ree
  • Participate with Purpose: Attend your chosen volunteering sessions with genuine intent to help, whether that’s cleaning beaches, maintaining our herb garden, or creating online content.

  • Follow Instructions & Guidelines: Help our team maintain smooth operations by following the instructions given during events and online projects.

  • Respect the Spirit of Contribution: Volunteering is about impact, not personal gain. Requests for letters, testimonials, or certificates are only provided under specific conditions (e.g., participation in a 6-month programme or a paid school, private, or corporate programme, with proof of contribution).

ree

Volunteering at OPP is not about collecting points, signatures, or last-minute letters. It is about protecting the ocean, supporting coastal communities, and contributing to real environmental impact. Our work is powered by passionate people, not entitlement — and we ask all students to approach their experience with courtesy, respect, and proper planning. By approaching volunteering with the right mindset, you’ll not only support cleaner oceans and healthier ecosystems, but also develop skills, build community, and experience the real rewards of giving back.

🌟 What We Expect from Every Student Volunteer

1. Participate with Purpose

Whether you are joining a beach clean up, helping out in our eco-garden, or working on digital content, come with genuine intention to contribute. Your time helps clean coastlines, reduce plastic pollution, and support our Pasir Ris living laboratory.

2. Respect Our Staff & Follow Instructions

Our small team works hard to run safe, engaging, high-impact events. Please treat our staff, volunteers, and community partners with kindness. Follow guidelines so the event runs smoothly for everyone — no demanding behaviour, no last-minute requests. Let's save our seas with compassion and community love.

3. Understand Our Certification Policy

OPP provides testimonials or certificates only for:

  • A minimum 6-month volunteering commitment, or

  • Participants of paid school/private/corporate programmes, or

  • Students who complete every step of the official VIA participation process.

We do not issue letters on demand. Impact first — paperwork second.

4. susGain Collab

If you found us via the susGain app, after the clean up the OPP staff will share the 4-digit susGain code with you.
